Colorado's homeowners market
Colorado regularly ranks second only to Texas for hail claims, so carriers look closely at roof age and material on every Colorado home, and many policies now carry a percentage wind and hail deductible. Wildfire risk scores affect pricing in the foothills and along the wildland edge, and the Colorado FAIR Plan offers coverage when the private market won't. We also cover condos, rental properties, renters, and high-value homes.
Hail, wildfire, and flash floods
The 2017 Denver hailstorm caused about $2.3 billion in insured losses, the 2021 Marshall Fire destroyed more than 1,000 homes in Boulder County, and the 2013 Front Range floods damaged thousands of homes. A standard homeowners policy does not cover flood, so we quote NFIP and private flood policies, which usually carry a 30-day waiting period.
Auto, boat, and business coverage
Colorado requires auto liability limits of at least $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident, and $15,000 for property damage. Colorado is an at-fault state, and insurers must offer uninsured motorist and $5,000 of medical payments coverage, which you can only reject in writing. We round out your protection with auto, boat, and umbrella coverage. For business owners, we also write business insurance, from business owners policies to commercial property, along with contractors insurance and trucking coverage.
